John Sayers

Director

John Sayers is descendant from the Bundawang (Yuin) Mob. Yuin is the name referred to for the Aboriginal Tribal group occupying the coastal area between Jervis Bay and Twofold Bay.

The Budawang tribe were the Aboriginals to be sighted by Captain Cook in 1770, on Koorbrua beach at Murramarang.  The tribal area of Budawang is from Conjola in the north, Lake George in the West and the Moruya (Deua) River in the south.

John is a passionate and successful businessman having previously owned such businesses as Rex Airlines and Ocean Earth, developed major parcels of land in Eastern Australia and John brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and mentoring to the 18fifty3 Group team.

He is passionate about indigenous employment and training, creating jobs for those in remote areas across Australia. John wants to join modern technology and Aboriginal culture and land management skills to drive solutions for training and employment through remote Australia.

Casey Allen

E-Recruit and System Specialist

Casey is a proud indigenous woman of the Tharawal Nation, whose country takes in South-Western Sydney. Casey is an integral part of 18fifty3 GAPRM’s Government Services Team. As our e-Recruit and Systems SME, Casey hold invaluable knowledge and experience within all functions of e-recruit and Acendre including.

Expertise:

  • Building of e-Recruit

Tailored builds in line with client requirements including:

  • Facilitation of scheduling interview, through system scheduler
  • Job specific templates including the development of:
    • Email templates for correspondence with candidates, referees etc
    • Referee template development in line with client requirements and integration into system
  • Integration of testing platforms, for example: Revelian
  • ICT and eRecruit Systems Administration. Including:
    • Out of hours troubleshooting
    • Systems testing
    • Maintenance and required bug fixes
    • Candidate and Client system support
  • Training and Mentoring staff on e-Recruit
  • Including development of Training protocols and instructional documents

Bronwyn Archer-Dawson

Director & Operations Manager 

Bronwyn has more than 25 years’ experience in human resources, conference and event management, sales and marketing. With 13 years’ experience in the Canberra construction and property industry, Bronwyn worked for one of Canberra’s leading Project and Construction management companies in the capacity of HR Manager. Bronwyn has also worked as a Client Services Manager with a global recruitment company; both roles servicing the Building, Construction and Design disciplines.

As the Founding Director of GAPRM, Bronwyn is pivotal in relationship and business building; her knowledge and foresight allows for key implementation of processes and the future structure of GAPRM’s internal team to deliver for our clients. Bronwyn has held long term industry memberships, respected across many circles and remain current with industry standards and is consulted regularly by our clients.

Bronwyn is responsible for the company’s Quality Assurance systems including financial and risk management as well as planning an active role of lead on numerous contract and client management of recruitment jobs which recently has included a number of Federal and State Government Departments and Agencies.

Douglas Grierson

Director 

Doug has over 30 years’ industry experience in Defence, Government, Corporate and Private sector, including project management, training and senior management. Doug’s expertise and specialisations are in Aerospace, Technologies and Engineering. Doug spent 20 years in Defence, 13 years working with the NSW Government framework and the last three years dedicated to establishing Business and Recruitment collaborations in the Building, Construction, Security and Technology Industries.

Having been involved with Technology Industry projects including the Joint Strike Fighter, the Frigate Upgrade, Tiger Rotary Wing and the Landing Helicopter Dock, has allowed Doug to diversify into many industries utilising a breadth of skills. Doug has built an extensive network of clients who rely on his knowledge of Government and Industry recruiting and trust his ability to tailor recruitment solutions that will deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Andrew Dawson

Director and Business Manager

Andrews expertise lie within the Public and Private recruitment space. He has extensive management experience, working within a national and international high-performance sporting space for 15 years prior finding his feet and becoming a partner of 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management. Andrew has performed in multiple capacities within his role and has been responsible for talent recruitment, development of and management of personnel.

Andrews ability to develop strong relationships with clients, candidates and personal of high calibre is second to none. He specialises in programme and logistics management, security liaison, appropriate personal recruitment and contract management.

He has extensive knowledge in assessing potential staff who will perform under pressure and develop into future key performers. Andrew’s broad experience and ability to relate to a diverse client base, enhances his commitment and persistence in delivering for clients.

Ben Gisik

Recruitment and Human Resources Professional, with a background in Hospitality and Commerce, I am always ready for a new challenge, love learning new things and want to help others achieve their best.

Throughout my career to date with Living Recruitment, GAP Resource Management, 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management, and GAP Veteran & Legal Services I have deepened my passion for meeting new people, hearing their stories, where they have come from and what they want to achieve. With a commitment to building relationships and listening to the needs of others, I have been able to meet, interact with and work with some incredible people from diverse backgrounds and make several important connections within the industry all of which enable me to deliver the best service possible.

Grace Tosic

Business Unit Manager | Senior Audit and Compliance 

Grace performs a pivotal role within our Government team assisting with all auditing, contract, scribing, Bulk Recruitment and Graduate campaign processes.

As the Senior Audit and Compliance Manager, Grace takes lead on all ACT Government, Secure Local Jobs auditing processes while supporting the day to day functions for whole of business.

With seven years’ experience working within the General Insurance industry as a Tier 1 Broker, prior to joining GAP Resource Management, Grace draws on her insurance expertise and knowledge, while overseeing all contractor welfare, payroll issues and managing any return-to-work related matters including day to day communications both internal and externally.

Grace brings a logical and intuitive approach to service delivery, providing a relatable platform for our contractor and client base. With an empathetic approach and known understanding of tailored guidance and advice needs, Grace is able to liase with stakeholders while utilising her thorough industry knowledge, understanding of the Workplace, Health and Safety environment and established case management skills.

Ben Surawski

General Manager, 18fifty3 Group

Ben brings a wealth of knowledge to the 18fifty3 Group. Ben along with the rest of the 18fifty3 GAPRM team strive to provide work opportunities to Indigenous Australians through numerous avenues.

Ben’s business and commercial management career have led him to learn the finer points of networking, stakeholder engagement and contract management in a range of areas throughout Australia and internationally.  He is proficient in delivering value and operational efficiency through the design and implementation of comprehensive people practices, strategies that drive engagement and tools to keep costs in check.

Ben’s background includes five years in the Australian Army, time as a commercial helicopter pilot, firefighting and operating in high paced environments such as the Queensland floods of 2010, while also driving quality and safety as a lead auditor in company safety programmes.

Robyn Edwards

Finance Manager

Robyn’s expertise lies within the world of finance. Having started her career in banking, working in a “Big 4” bank, Robyn then moved into an Accounting role within the Commonwealth Public Service for 10 years. After her time with the Commonwealth Public Service, Robyn decided to establish herself as a Bookkeeper in her own right, running her own business from home while bringing up her kids.

Now that her kids are grown, Robyn has joined the 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management team as Finance Manager, while continuing to manage her own preestablished private clientele. As a registered BAS agent with a Bachelor of Commerce (Quantitative Business Statistics & Management Accounting) Robyn brings with her a wealth of knowledge and has well and truly cemented herself as a key contributor to the 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management team.

David McPhee

Corporate Manager, Queensland

David’s career has encompassed the hospitality, marine industry, conference/ exhibition and major event sector, manufacturing industry and professional sports. As either the proprietor or senior manager in this variety of industries David’s experience is extensive, well rounded and focused on the staff development and strategic planning necessary to ensure the success of any enterprise.

Experience in these many disciplines has exposed David to a varied range of proven operational and strategic solutions as well as allowing insight to managing businesses and with an extended focus into the people who work in them.

His goal for the future is to share his knowledge, drive and enthusiasm with business owners who want to achieve the most out of their business by engaging with the optimal employees who will assist them to realise their businesses peak performance along with their own personal goals and aspirations.

Georgia Conway

Management Coordinator | Executive Scribing, Bulk Recruitment and Graduate Campaigns, and Auditing

Georgia is currently studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing at the University of South Australia and is part of the team as HR Administration and Business Support. After working in the Child Care industry for over 5 years, she gained both administrative experience and enjoyed interacting with different personalities on a daily basis. This, combined with her current studies has led her to have a keen interest in all things Marketing, Social and Digital Media, Administration and Human Resources which she now applies to her current position within the team at GAP Resource Management, Living Recruitment, and 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management, and GAP Veteran & Legal Services.

Georgia currently manages our Marketing Space through the development, design and sharing of our creative content, while working within the Executive Scribing and Bulk Recruitment, and Public and Private Sector Recruitment spaces. While Georgia has worked to understand the in’s and out’s of Marketing Functions and Processes, she also has a passion for building interpersonal relationships and helping other people discover new and exciting career opportunities.

Barry Neivandt

Client Support Manager, Victoria

Barry Neivandt is in Victoria and has over 20 years’ experience in professional skill development and mentoring in sporting environments such as Cricket Victoria. He will be key in providing the on-the-ground pastoral/welfare response for 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management employees placed into KPMG. He will also be involved in the relationship management and proactive responsiveness which will be fundamental to the partnership between 18fifty3 GAP Resource Management and KPMG.

Barry is a business and coaching development professional who possesses a range of diverse skills through varied experiences and opportunities through business and sport. He has demonstrated strengths in consultation and relationship management, leadership development, strategic planning and implementation. Barry is experienced in managing change, team and organisational development, mentoring, group facilitation and delivering educational training programs. Barry is a dependable, thorough, loyal and extremely organised planner with demonstrated strengths in effective communication and influencing skills across all levels of business and sport showing commitment to timely and cost-effective delivery of outcomes.

Kat Wilson

Resource Officer

Kat has a strong and proud career having served in the Royal Australian Navy where she completed two major deployments whilst a member of the Fleet Air Arm during her nine years enlisted. Since transitioning to civilian life, Kat has continued to work in challenging roles where she can apply her unique and highly regarded skill set and make a real difference. Kat has worked within Mining, Local Government and the private sector and her achievements include significant improvements in the areas of Logistics, Safety, Customer Service and Business Development.

Kat with her diverse background makes maximum use of information in decision making. She applies the detailed analysis of information to generate the best plan or solution and she delivers. As a Resource Officer with the Gap Resource Management team, Kat plays a key role in meeting the needs of clients delivering services at an exceptional level. Kat’s area of speciality is with the HR and recruitment team with building relationships with candidates and clients, talent attraction, selection process efficiency, reporting and bulk recruitment.
